Open Google Meet links in the right Chrome profile on Mac
Why give it its own rule
Company calendar invites expect you to join Meet with your work Google account; otherwise you wait in the 'Ask to join' lobby or show up under your personal name. If your everyday browser is signed in to a personal account, every meeting link starts that way.
How to set it up
- Install ChooseBrowser and pick it in System Settings → Desktop & Dock → Default web browser.
- In ChooseBrowser, add a rule for the hosts below and choose the browser and profile (profiles of Chrome, Edge, Brave, Vivaldi and Chromium need a one-time local setup in the app).
- From then on, these links open straight in that browser from any app; links without a rule show the picker.
Hosts to add
meet.google.com
Add a rule for meet.google.com that opens the Chrome, Edge, Brave, Vivaldi or Chromium profile signed in to your work Google account. Meeting codes follow the host directly, so there is no useful path to split on. If you regularly join meetings with a personal account too, leave meet.google.com without a rule and choose from the picker with ⌘1–⌘9.
Check that it works
Open a meeting link from a work invite and check that the pre-join screen shows your work email under the camera preview; then open a non-Meet link and confirm it does not go to that profile.
